The Porsche 911 models, feature a 4.0-liter six-cylinder and turbo-aspirated 220 kW engine. TORK solenoid valves are located on the turbo cooling lines of these models designed for the racetrack. What is Turbo Charger?

Turbo is a kind of hot air compressor. By providing more air and pressure, it helps the engine produce more efficient power. In this way, it provides better performance and reduces fuel consumption compared to non-turbo engines with the same power.

Turbo is a set of propeller (turbine) that works with the outlet pressure of the gases (exhaust gases) thrown from the combustion. Combustion fuel-air mixture gases come out of the cylinders very hot (950 ° C) and with high pressure. This pressurized and hot gas output hits the exhaust turbine and rotates it, then passes through the exhaust and is released into the atmosphere. This rotation also turns the other turbine on the same shaft. This rotation provides high speed but low pressure air intake. This low pressure needs to be raised. This pressure boosting process carries out snail-shaped tunnels inside the body of the turbine. This absorbed air is first sent to the intercooler for cooling and then enters the cylinders with high pressure and lower temperature. In this way, a much more efficient combustion is provided.
 
What is Turbo Pressure Control Valve, What Does It Do? (Solenoid Valve)

The turbo pressure control solenoid valve is used to control the pressure of the compressed air sent to the intake manifold of the engine by the turbocharger. The turbocharger adds 1 bar of pressure in addition to the existing atmospheric pressure of 1 bar (absolute pressure is around 1.5 - 2 bar) and sends it to the engine (intake manifold). Mass of air intaked into the engine varies depending on the temperature of the air, the pressure of the air, the height of the vehicle above sea level (atmospheric pressure). For this reason, in turbocharged engines, the ECU looks at these variables as well as the load and driving conditions, while adjusting the pressure and amount of air delivered to the engine.
 
The turbo pressure control valve is an electropneumatically operated solenoid valve. It dosages the pressure / vacuum applied to the vacuum / pressure tube to adjust the turbo pressure that the turbocharger sends to the engine in the ECU control. If this is a turbo with a wastegate mechanism, it controls the diaphragm tube in the wastegate mechanism. If this is a variable vane (variable geometry) turbo, it controls the pressure / vacuum tube that moves the variable vanes.
